Guideline for Authors

Submission Guidelines:

-              Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words (the title should not exceed 25 words).

-              Academic abstracts should include: Title, description, rationale, theoretical framework, methodology, and findings.

-              Practice-based abstracts should include: Title, description, innovative practices, and evidence.

-              Use Times New Roman, Font size 12, and single spacing.

-              Selected authors will be contacted to submit their work for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Call for Proposals: PACA 2025 Annual Conference

The PACA Program Committee invites proposals for Panels, Posters, Oral Presentations, and Technology Demonstrations at the PACA 2025 Annual Conference to be held in Nairobi, Kenya on April 23rd-26th, 2025.

Submission Types

Abstracts may be submitted in the following categories:

  1. Panel Submissions:

    • Aimed at presenting lectures around a common theme relevant to autism research and practice.
    • Submissions should consist of 4 linked presentations submitted as a group by a Panel Chair.
    • Discussant may be included to integrate concepts raised in the presentations, but this is optional.
  2. Oral Presentations:

    • Data-driven, empirical reports of new findings that have not been previously published or presented elsewhere.
    • Each presentation will be 10 minutes long with an additional 5 minutes for questions.
    • Avoid literature reviews or descriptions of published techniques.
  3. Technology Demonstration Submissions:

    • Highlight an area of technology and its application to autism spectrum disorder.
    • Preference for submissions that include empirical data, represent a broad selection of the African community, and feature an interactive demonstration of the technology.

The scientific review committee will evaluate all submissions and make the final decision regarding the presentation format.
