George Okeyo
Assistant Teaching Professor, Carnegie Mellon University Africa
George Okeyo is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University Africa. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Ulster. His thesis explored the use of knowledge driven activity recognition in smart environments. He holds an M.Sc. degree in Information Systems from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and a B.Sc. In Mathematics and Computer Science from JKUAT. He most recently served as lecturer and senior lecturer at the De Montfort University in Leicester, United Kingdom. Prior to joining De Montfort University, he was a lecturer at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where he was also the head of the Department of Computing. Okeyo has teaching interests and experience in programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and Internet of Things, among others. Overall, he has successfully supervised five Ph.D. students to completion as well as several MSc projects.
